Calling The Chairman Of The DKI DPRD, KPK To Explore Commitment Fees Of IDR 560 Billion To FEO?

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) confirmed that it had summoned the chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Prasetyo Edi Marsudi. This summons is allegedly related to allegations of corruption in the implementation of the Formula E racing event.

"The person in question has been present at the KPK's Red and White Building," Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement ALi Fikri told reporters, Tuesday, February 8.

Ali said that the investigation team of the anti-corruption commission would ask for information and clarification from Prasetyo regarding the implementation of the car racing event.

"(The summons, ed) is related to requests for information and clarification by the KPK investigation team," he said.

However, when asked whether the KPK would delve into the payment of a commitment fee of Rp 560 billion as mentioned by Prasetyo, Ali refused to answer further.

He said the alleged corruption was still in the investigation stage so that any information that was available would not be released to the public. "Because it is still an investigation process, of course, as part of the strategy for collecting information and information, we cannot convey it at this time," he said.

It is known that the DKI Provincial Government has disbursed a budget of IDR 560 billion since 2019 and 2020 for Formula E Operation (FEO) as the holder of the Formula E license.

Based on the latest agreement between BUMD PT Jakarta Propertindo and FEO, the commitment fee will be used for three years, namely 2022, 2023 and 2024.

Previously, Prasetyo had expressed his surprise regarding the nominal commitment fee which was higher than other countries. He said, the Formula E event in Montreal, Canada, only charged nomination fees for the City of Montreal worth IDR 1.7 billion and Race fees worth IDR 17 billion, with a total cost of IDR 18.7 billion.

"The biggest expenditure of Formula E currently is IDR 560 billion. It is used to pay the commitment fee to Formula E Operation (FEO). Here it appears that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is not directly involved in the implementation. But in fact Jakpro as the executor is fully under the control of the Governor ," said Prasetyo.
