TANGERANG - The Tangerang City Government (Pemkot) through the Health Service (Dinkes) continues to strive to create a healthy generation by implementing Vitamin A Month. This is done to maintain the immune system of children under five years old.

The Head of the Health Service, Dr. Dini Anggraeni, ensured that the implementation of Vitamin A Month would continue to the maximum despite the increase in daily cases of COVID-19.

He also revealed that in the implementation there were 102,669 children who were targeted, with details of 12,744 infants aged 6-11 months on a blue capsule of vitamin A at a dose of 100,000 IU, and 89,925 children aged 12-59 months on a red capsule of vitamin A with a dose of 200,000 IU.

"Providing vitamin A for toddlers is not only the obligation of Posyandu cadres. All parties must take part to make this vitamin A successful," said Dr. Dini, when contacted, Tuesday, February 8.

He also said, in the implementation of giving vitamins, strict health protocols must always be applied. Therefore, the distribution of vitamins from posyandu is done door to door.

"The provision of vitamin A can prevent them from diseases and also fulfill their nutritional adequacy," he said.
