Tangsel Police Holds Crowd Free Night To Prevent Gatherings

SOUTH TANGERANG - The South Tangerang Police (Tangsel) held a Crowd Free Night at several points in its area to limit community activities at night.

For information, the Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya has imposed crowd-free nights in the buffer areas of the Capital City, including South Tangerang.

The timing of the crowd-free night is the same as in Jakarta starting at 00.00 a.m. - 04.00 a.m.

VOI monitoring on Jalan Pahlawan Seribu, Serpong, South Tangerang, dozens of policemen were seen standing guard at the location. They conduct raids on both two-wheeled and four-wheeled riders.

Head of Traffic for South Tangerang Police, Dicky Sutarman, said that the target for the Crowd Free Night activity was an area where crowds of people were assessed.

"We do it every night in the area in South Tangerang. The determination of the location is based on our assessment if there are locations that violate health protocols or crowds," said Dicky when met at the location, Saturday, February 5.

"We will close access to the entrance to the place and we will hold a crowd-free night," he continued.

In its implementation, Dicky said that several vehicles were allowed to enter the closed area, such as officers' vehicles and ambulances.

"Officers vehicles, ambulances, and residents are allowed to enter the area (held Crowd Free Night)," he said.

He appealed to all residents of South Tangerang to reduce mobility out of the house at night. This is done to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

"We urge people during the COVID-19 pandemic to reduce their mobility and it is better to stay at home," he said.
