Samarinda Police Arrest Recidivist Theft Of Building Goods

SAMARINDA - The Samarinda Police Team, East Kalimantan, arrested a recidivist who stole building goods recorded by a shop-house surveillance camera on Jalan AW Sjahranie, Sempaja Barat Village, North Samarinda District.

"Perpetrator (F) has been a recidivist twice and this is the third time with the same case," said Samarinda Police Chief Kombes Ary Fadli in Samarinda, quoted by Antara, Saturday, February 5.

He explained that the perpetrator was caught together with evidence on Thursday, February 3, at around 09.00 WITA at his residence on Jalan Gerilya Gang Sepakat, Sungai Pinang District.

It is known, the theft of the perpetrator who had gone viral on social media was a scavenger.

"In action, the perpetrator used the scavenging mode, transporting the things he saw and then when he had the opportunity he also put the stolen goods into a cart that he pulled using a motorbike," he said.

Ary added that the perpetrator brought his son to sit on the motorbike every time he carried out the action.

"The perpetrator admitted that the action he took was for daily living expenses, and at this time we are still developing it regarding whether there are other crime scenes," he explained.

The Samarinda Police Chief said that the perpetrator with the initials F (43) turned out to be a recidivist with the same case.

The number of criminal acts that have been caught on CCTV recently in the city of Samarinda has made the Samarinda Police to act quickly to take action on the case.

For his actions, the perpetrators were charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code concerning theft with a maximum threat of seven years in prison.
