MATARAM - The public prosecutor transferred four defendants in a corruption case in the procurement of hybrid maize seeds from the Research and Development Agency (Balitbang) III by the Department of Agriculture and Plantation of West Nusa Tenggara in 2017 to the Class IIA Mataram Penitentiary in Kuripan, West Lombok Regency.

Spokesperson for the NTB High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) Supardin confirmed the activities of the public prosecutor's team which transferred the defendants to prison.

"So this is just a place change, there has been no execution, because the case is still undergoing further legal action," Supardin said, quoted by Antara, Thursday, February 3.

He also confirmed that the transfer of the defendant to the Mataram Class IIA Prison was still under the control of the Panel of Judges at the Mataram Corruption Court.

"So his detention is now using the court judge's detention period," he said.

From observations, the transfer was carried out by the public prosecutor's team for the defendant Aryanto Prametu, Thursday, February 3 afternoon. The transfer was carried out from the Mataram Police Detention Room (Rutan) to the Mataram Class IIA Prison.

Meanwhile, for the other three defendants, namely Husnul Fauzi, Ida Wayan Wikanaya, and Lalu Ikhwanul Hubby, it was carried out last week. The transfer activity was also carried out by a team of public prosecutors from the NTB Police Rutan to the Mataram Class IIA Prison.

In this case, the four defendants as well as the public prosecutor have filed an appeal to the West Nusa Tenggara High Court regarding the decision at the court of first instance.

In the decision at the Mataram Tipikor District Court, the suspects were given different sentences.

On Friday, January 7, the defendant Husnul Fauzi, who is the former head of the NTB Agriculture and Plantation Service (Distanbun), was sentenced to 13 years in prison.

The panel of judges led by I Ketut Somanasa and its members, Glorious Anggundoro and Fadhli Hanra, in their decision also imposed a fine of Rp. 600 million, subsidiary to four months in prison.

The judge stated that the defendant's actions were found guilty of violating Article 2 Paragraph 1 of Law No. 20/2001 on Amendments to Law No. 31/1999 on the Eradication of Corruption Crimes Juncto Article 55 Paragraph 1 of the 1st Criminal Code in accordance with the contents of the primary indictment.

The sentence for the defendant Husnul is similar to that of the defendant Ida Wayan Wikanaya. However, for the defendant Wikanaya in his role as the project commitment maker (PPK), the judge sentenced him to 11 years in prison and a fine of IDR 500 million, subsidiary to three months in prison.

The verdict for the two defendants was declared as the party responsible for the emergence of state losses in excess of Rp. 25 billion, not unlike the prosecutor's demands.

Meanwhile, Aryanto Prametu, Director of PT Sinta Agro Mandiri (SAM), in his verdict hearing last Monday (10/1), was sentenced to eight years in prison and a fine of Rp. 400 million, subsidiary to three months in prison. The judge also charged Aryanto with paying compensation for state losses of IDR 7.87 billion, a subsidiary of one year in prison.

Then for the Director of PT Wahana Banu Sejahtera (WBS) Lalu Ikhwanul Hubby, the judge sentenced him to eight years in prison and a fine of Rp.
