SOLO - Surakarta Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka will evaluate the implementation of 100 percent face-to-face learning (PTM) following the emergence of clusters of the spread of COVID-19 in a number of schools.

"We will evaluate again later," he said in Solo, as reported by Antara, Thursday, February 3.

The Governor of Central Java Ganjar Pranowo has also appealed for the 50 percent PTM to be carried out again. In this regard, Gibran will follow the orders issued by the Governor.

"If the order is 50 percent, we will carry it out. Yes, we will evaluate it again later, if the parents are worried or don't want PTM, we will evaluate it again," he said.

He admitted that so far there have been suggestions from a number of parents to return to distance learning (PJJ).

"There are those who propose that the PJJ be temporarily removed, or 50 percent, various things. We will evaluate it first, accommodate it first. However, if there are special instructions from the governor, we will carry out 50 percent, but so far we are going as usual," However, he asked students and parents not to worry about the spread of COVID-19, which has increased again in recent times.

"Parents don't need to worry, most of those who are positive are OTG (people without symptoms). Usually recover quickly, there's no need to worry," he said.

Meanwhile, he asked all teachers, employees, and students to strictly implement health protocols while at school. He also asked parents to participate in supervising their children outside of school.

"School is only for a few hours, what needs to be supervised is outside the school. We ask parents to take care of their children," he said.
