BANTEN - Banten Governor Wahidin Halim (WH) said that the Tangerang Raya area, namely Tangerang Regency, Tangerang City, and South Tangerang City, had been agreed to temporarily not carry out Face-to-face Learning (PTM) or resume Distance Learning (PJJ).

The Banten Provincial Government (Pemprov) has tightened the application of Face-to-face Learning (PTM) in line with the development of COVID-19 cases, especially the Omicron variant which has increased.

"For Greater Tangerang, it has been agreed that there will be no PTM," said Banten Governor Wahidin Halim after attending the Inauguration and Inauguration of the Banten Province KONI Management for 2021-2025 at the Banten Province State Building, Antara, Wednesday, February 2.

For other areas in Banten Province, Wahidin said, his party will carry out further evaluations and pay attention to and see the development of conditions for the spread of COVID-19 cases.

"Every day we evaluate. So look at the developments this week, because this area is still yellow, Tangerang Raya is already orange," he said.

In addition, the Governor of Banten also said the increase in COVID-19 cases in Banten Province mostly occurred in the Greater Tangerang area. Because the Greater Tangerang area is an agglomeration area of DKI Jakarta. Based on data from the Banten Province Health Office (Dinkes) related to the map of the spread of COVID-19 in Banten Province, as of February 1, 2022, it experienced a spike to reach the 2,500 figure.

"The Omicron variant COVID-19, which occurs a lot in Tangerang Raya due to agglomeration of influences from Jakarta. But from a further analogy, indeed they are a lot of self-isolation in their respective homes, and do not fulfill or be taken to the hospital. Because it is not as dangerous as COVID-19 the Delta variant," said Wahidin.

To anticipate the spread of COVID-19 in Banten Province, his party has prepared several things, including preparing a referral hospital and holding a coordination meeting regarding the availability of oxygen.

"It's ready, the hospital is still there. We have prepared it from the start, we have also packed oxygen," said Wahidin.

The Governor of Banten has issued a Circular Letter (SE) of the Governor of Banten Number 443/204-Dinkes/2022. In the SE issued on January 27, 2022 concerning Prevention and Control of COVID-19 Cases and Omicron Variants in Banten Province, there are at least 12 points emphasized by the Governor of Banten Wahidin Halim in the SE. Among them, the pressure is President Joko Widodo's appeal regarding the evaluation of the implementation of the PTM.

At the ninth point in the SE, the Governor of Banten limited the maximum number of students to 25 percent in one classroom, then had to provide hand washing facilities, check temperature and eliminate learning outside the main curriculum.

To follow up the Banten Governor's SE, the Banten Province Education and Culture Office (Disdikbud) has also issued SE number 421/0256-Dindikbud/2022 which was issued on January 31, 2022. , State SKh and private schools in Banten Province.

The SE requires the presence of PTM a maximum of 25 percent in one classroom, and requires all school principals to periodically report on the PTM and PJJ processes to the Head of the Banten Province Education and Culture Office through the Head of the Disdikbud Branch in their respective regions.

Not only that, the SE issued by Disdikbud also stated that if there were positive cases of COVID-19 and the Omicron variant in schools, they should stop the PTM process and transfer them to PJJ.
