CIREBON - Positive confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Cirebon Regency, West Java, have increased again. On Wednesday, February 2, 19 new cases were recorded with a total of 81 active cases.

"There are 19 additional new cases of COVID-19," said Head of the Immunization and Surveillance Section for Disease Prevention and Control (P2P) of the Cirebon District Health Office Dendi Hamdi in Cirebon as quoted by Antara.

According to him, with this addition, now the total active cases who are undergoing isolation both at home and in hospitals have reached 81 people.

Dendi said that in the past few days the case of COVID-19 in Cirebon Regency has increased, but it is not yet certain whether it is due to the omicron variant or not.

Confirmed cases from day to day have increased quite significantly. Initially there were only five residents, but now it has shot up to 19 people in a day. "We ask the public to tighten health protocols even more," he said.

Dendi added that of the 81 people who are undergoing isolation, 62 are self-isolating, while 19 others are undergoing treatment at the hospital.

"There are 19 people who are being treated, both in hospitals in Cirebon and outside Cirebon," he said.
