JAKARTA - The DPR has again tightened the rules after a number of council members and employees were exposed to COVID-19. A number of commissions and Council Apparatuses (AKD) have implemented a temporary suspension of activities or lockdown.

The Secretary General of the DPR, Indra Iskandar, said that there were at least 9 DPR members and 80 DPR civil servants as well as experts who were confirmed positive for COVID-19.

"Regarding our tracing within the DPR, what is currently being done through our lab is that there are 9 positive DPR members and 80 people from PPNS employees and council experts," said Indra to reporters, Wednesday, February 2.

Indra said council members who were exposed to COVID-19 had undergone self-quarantine at their respective homes. However, he is still reluctant to reveal who the board members are exposed to COVID-19.

Indra only said the data was for tracing board members and board leaders who were positive for COVID-19.

"Because this is of course the data lab, we don't want it to be open as individual data, later it will be an effect that we are tracing," said Indra.

Meanwhile, regarding the discussion of the Draft Law (RUU) and the working meeting at the DPR, Indra said his party had implemented strict health protocols and was very limited.

"So our tracing is at the secretariat general and members who are suspected by us to be outside clusters," he concluded.
