BADUNG - The government has designated Bali as the location for the 7th Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (GPDRR) to be held in May 2022.

"In general it is ready and there have been events leading up to the G20 big meeting. So this has all been done. The step-by-step procedure is neat," said Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK), Muhadjir Effendy at BNDCC, Nusa Dua, Badung, Bali, Friday, January 28.

Muhadjir has checked the readiness of the activities starting from the entrance of the arrival of the delegates, throughout the activity, until the completion of activities and the return of guests to their respective countries.

One of the main aspects to be prepared is the entrance for the delegates, namely at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali.

Muhadjir reviewed the readiness of Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport as the entry gate for international delegations, including a special lane at the international terminal which was designated for delegates upon arrival.

He checked various inspection mechanisms for the delegates, ranging from health checks and COVID-19 rapid test facilities. Then Muhadjir also checked the readiness of immigration and customs checks. In addition, he also checked the implementation of health protocols in the arrival flow.

During the review, the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture was accompanied by the Head of BNPB Suharyanto, President Director of Angkasa Pura I Faik Fahmi, Operations Director of Angkasa Pura I Wendo Asrul Rose, and the management of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport.

The international meeting that will be held is the GPDRR event on 23-28 May 2022 in Bali. The event will be held with the concept of a physical meeting, and is planned to be attended by 5,000 to 6,000 participants from 193 countries. This meeting is planned to be held at the Bali International Convention Center (BICC), Nusa Dua, South Kuta District, Badung Regency, Bali.

President Director of Angkasa Pura I, Faik Fahmi, said that he would manage all processes for the arrival of the delegates effectively and efficiently. "With so many delegates attending, an inspection scheme per group will be carried out later," he said.

He made sure that the arrival and check-in reception would be carried out in an efficient manner. "We will make sure that while at the airport we can arrange it well. From the side of setting the slot to the venue in Nusa Dua, it is certain that it will run well," he said.

For the quarantine process for the delegates, the Head of BNPB, Suharyanto, said that he would implement a bubble system. He explained that the arriving delegates would be immediately placed in the Nusa Dua area to be quarantined and would be closely monitored.

Connecting the Head of BNPB, Coordinating Minister Muhadjir said that with the bubble quarantine system the delegates would not interact with the community and would only be at the activity location.

"So, it is almost certain that all of those participating in the GPDRR activities are in good health. So, if they interact with the large number of participants, God willing, it will be safe," he said.

After reviewing the readiness of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture together with the Head of BNPB Suharyanto, National Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and Bali Governor Wayan Koster also visited various venues at the Bali International Convention Center (BICC) and the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC).
