CIANJUR - Two residents of Cianjur, West Java, died from contracting dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) after undergoing medical treatment at the Cianjur Hospital.

The head of the Cianjur Health Service, Dr. Irvan Nur Fauzy, said that his party was still collecting data on patients who died of dengue after undergoing treatment at the Cianjur Hospital. Both of them are adults from Cilaku District.

"We are still recording how many people have died from dengue in the past week and how many have contracted it. We have been socializing about the importance of 3M as an effort to prevent mosquito larvae from breeding," he said, quoted by Antara, Friday, January 28.

His party has also intensified similar activities to a number of sub-districts that are included in dengue-prone areas such as Cianjur, Karang Tengah and several sub-districts in the eastern region, including asking residents to be diligent in cleaning the surrounding environment.

Meanwhile, two residents of Sirnagalih Village, Cilaku Sub-district, died due to dengue fever while undergoing medical treatment at the Cianjur Hospital, said the Head of Sirnagalih Village, H Sugilar.

"DHF cases in our area were quite high in the past month, so that two villagers died after contracting the disease caused by the bite of the Aedes Aegypti mosquito," he said.

To suppress dengue cases in their area, the village government promotes a clean and healthy lifestyle (PHBS) and 3M drains, closes, and bury places that can be used as nests for mosquitoes to breed. Including making villagers as larva monitors.

"Every citizen is required to be a larva monitoring interpreter (Jumantik) in every neighborhood where they live and we also promote fogging or fogging to each village that is prone to dengue," he said.
