The Number Of Positive Cases Of COVID-19 At Surakarta Residents' High School Increases

SOLO - The number of positive cases of COVID-19 at the Surakarta Residents' High School has increased following the release of contact tracing results from the previous case.

"There are nine new cases added from the investigation conducted to 225 people," said the head of the Surakarta Citizen High School, Purwoto, quoted by Antara, Friday, January 28.

With this addition, it means that the spread of COVID-19 in the school has expanded to 21 people who have been confirmed positive.

"The nine additional positive people consist of six students, two teachers and one school employee," he said.

Purwoto said all teachers, employees, and students who were confirmed positive are currently in good condition and without symptoms.

Furthermore, today, a swab test was conducted again for 120 teachers, employees, and students at the school. In addition, as many as 216 people will also undergo a second swab test the following day.

As a result of this condition, his party shifted the learning method from face-to-face learning (PTM) to distance learning (PJJ) for 14 days.

Regarding this, the Head of the Surakarta City Health Service (DKK) Siti Wahyuningsih said that as a precautionary measure for the wider spread, it was recommended that all parties comply with the health protocol.

"If you know that you are physically unwell, you should immediately go to the nearest health center and immediately isolate," he said.

He also asked the Education Office to evaluate the implementation of health protocols in schools.

"PTM doesn't matter, as long as the procedures are strict. The school is safe, as long as it's not overcrowded with friends." he said.
