KPK Calls Hasto Orders Harun Masiku To Submerge Cellphones To Eliminate Evidence And Escape
JAKARTA - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Setyo Budiyanto said the PDIP Secretary General, Hasto Kristiyanto (HK) had ordered Harun Masiku to submerge his cellphone in the water to eliminate evidence and immediately escape.
"That on January 8, 2020, during the KPK's arrest process, Brother HK (Hasto Kristiyanto) ordered Nur Hasan [his staff] on Jl Sutan Syahrir No 12 A to call Harun Masiku to submerge his cellphone in water and immediately escape," Setyo said at a press conference at the KPK building, South Jakarta, Tuesday, December 24.
Setyo also said that Hasto also instructed him to remove other evidence when the KPK was going to investigate the alleged bribery case for interim replacement (PAW) members of the DPR who dragged Harun Masiku.
"On June 6, 2024, before HK's brother was examined as a witness by the KPK, HK's brother ordered the service to drown the cellphone under the control of Kusnadi's brother so that it would not be found by the KPK," said Setyo.
As previously reported, Harun Masiku, who is a former PDIP candidate, is a suspect in giving bribes to former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan. This gift was given so that he could sit as a member of the DPR through PAW.
Harun is currently unknown or has been a fugitive since 2020 or for four years.
