During The Christmas Holidays And Joint Leave, MRT Jakarta Operations Changed

JAKARTA PT MRT Jakarta announced changes to the operational schedule during the Christmas holidays and collective leave on December 25-26, 2024, in accordance with the Joint Decree of the Minister of Religion, the Minister of Manpower, and the Minister of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform.

"We will implement a special operating schedule during the Christmas holiday and joint leave in 2024," said Ahmad Pratomo, Head of the Corporate Secretariat Division of PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda), Tuesday, December 24.

The changes made include travel waiting times. On a normal day, the waiting time is only 5 minutes during peak hours (07.00-09.00 WIB and 17.00-19.00 WIB). However, during the Christmas holidays and collective leave, the travel waiting time will be extended to 10 minutes, while operating hours remain from 05.00 WIB to 24.00 WIB.

"This pattern of operations is only valid for two days. Starting Friday, December 27, 2024, the operational schedule will return to normal," explained Pratomo.

To provide the best experience to the public during the year-end holidays, MRT Jakarta has also prepared various interesting programs, such as promos for purchasing travel tickets** using AstraPay and digital BCA. Promotion feeders to facilitate access to MRT and special promos at outlets at MRT Stations, including discounts on a number of tenants.

Previously, PT MRT Jakarta estimated an increase in the number of passengers during the Christmas and New Year holidays. The President Director of PT MRT Jakarta, Tuhiyat, predicts that the total passengers for the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year holidays will reach 2,147,705 people, an increase of about 4 percent compared to the same period the previous year.

"The prediction of passengers on December 25-26, 2024 is 142 thousand people, an increase of 12 percent compared to 2023," said Tuhiyat.

For the New Year period, namely on December 31, 2024 and January 1, 2025, the number of passengers is estimated to reach 214 thousand people, an increase of 18 percent compared to the previous year.

The transportation period for the 2024 Christmas and New Year 2025 holidays has been set to take place from 18 December 2024 to 8 January 2025. The prediction is calculated based on the trend of the number of passengers on weekdays and the weekend of October 2024, as well as data on the realization of the number of passengers at the end of 2023.

With operational changes and various promo programs, MRT Jakarta hopes to meet the needs of public transportation during the long year-end holidays.
