Pertamina NRE Guarantees Environmentally Friendly Energy Supply During The Nataru Holiday
JAKARTA - Pertamina New & Renewable Energy (Pertamina NRE) ensures the readiness of environmentally friendly energy sources, ahead of and during the Christmas and New Year holidays.
"We are committed to maintaining the energy needs of the community, especially during the Naru holiday, especially electricity from environmentally friendly energy sources," said Pertamina NRE Corporate Secretary, Dicky Septriadi, Monday, December 23.
Furthermore, Dicky explained that Pertamina NRE's support for smooth clean energy supply in Naru 2024 - 2025, among others, through Solar Power Plants (PLTS) in various Pertamina Group operating areas such as in the Rokan oil and gas working area of 25.7 Megawatt peak (MWp) and several other Pertamina operating areas such as refineries and gas stations as well as several other SOEs such as PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) and Angkasa Pura with a total capacity of 52 MWp.
In addition, Pertamina NRE also supports energy security by supporting electricity supply from clean energy for the community from its affiliate PT Jawa Satu Power which manages the Java-1 PLTGU in Cilamaya with a capacity of 1,760 Megawatts (MW) to support Java and Bali electricity.
Not only that, through its subsidiary, PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk (PGE), also operates geothermal power plants (PLTP) in 6 areas in Indonesia, in the Sibaayak Area of North Sumatra, Ulubelu Lampung, Lumut Balai Sumatra Selatan, Karaha and Kamojang in West Java, and Lahendong in North Sulawesi with a total capacity of 672.5 Megawattt (MW).
Energy from geothermal has a large portion for several provinces in meeting their electricity needs, such as PLTP Lahendong which supplies more than 30 percent of the electricity needs in North Sulawesi and Gorontalo Provinces as well as PLTP Ulubelu which supply around 22 percent of Lampung province electricity for 24 hours without a break.
To ensure the reliability of clean energy supply, Pertamina NRE carried out a command call where management and teams in the operating area reported periodic operational preparedness, starting from the side of the number of workers, health, security and management of the work environment as well as other operational conditions.
Currently, Pertamina NRE Group guarantees that the generation from clean energy with a total capacity of 2,493.9 MW, consisting of several types of generators and spread across various regions in Indonesia. Until the end of 2024, Pertamina NRE Group managed to produce 7,685 Gigawatt hour (GWh) of clean electricity, or 13 percent above the production plan.
"Facing this Naru holiday, Pertamina NRE also urges the public to wisely use energy during holidays to support environmental sustainability and ensure equitable energy distribution," said Dicky.
