CENTRAL JAVA - The Batang Regency Government (Pemkab) in Central Java (Central Java) installed 60 surveillance cameras or CCTV at a number of vulnerable points to monitor the traffic flow of Christmas and New Year's 2025 homecoming vehicles.
Head of the Communication and Information Office of Batang Triossy Regency, Juniarto, said the installation of the surveillance camera was an effort to improve public security and order, as well as monitor the movement of vehicle traffic flow in real time.
"The installation of this CCTV is not only to welcome Christmas and New Year 2025 but also to monitor vehicle traffic throughout the day both on the north coast and toll roads," he said in Batang, Monday, December 23, which was confiscated by Antara.
According to him, dozens of surveillance cameras have begun to be installed at strategic points such as the Bandar Pecalungan Blado intersection, Simpang Subuh, Banyuputih, Watusalit intersection, Sawahan Kauman intersection, Batang Square, Kandeman toll exit, Rajawali City Forest, Sambong intersection, and Limpung Square.
Then, the Kalibeluk toll exit, rest area KM-379 and rest area KM-360, Simpang Gajah Mada, Simpang Pasar Batang, and at tourist attractions.
"So, we want all regions to be monitored. It's as if we have a lot of eagle eyes so that every movement and activity at the location can be clearly monitored at the Command Center of Communication and Information," he said.

He said the installation of dozens of surveillance cameras could assist the police in maintaining security and public order, as well as accelerating handling in the event of an emergency.
In addition to security, he said, the existence of CCTV can also increase community discipline in traffic on the highway.
"We hope that with this CCTV, people will be more orderly in traffic. In addition, CCTV can also help in unraveling congestion, especially when the traffic flow of vehicles is also starting to be closely monitored," he said.
He, who is familiarly called Bang Ossy, said that the presence of CCTV does not only provide benefits to the community and government, but also to business actors.
