490 Thousand Vehicles Leave Jabotabek Ahead Of Christmas 2024

PT Jasa Marga (Persero) noted that 490,621 vehicles had left the Jabotabek area on D-7 to D-5 Christmas 2024, namely the period Wednesday-Friday (18-20 December 2024).

This figure is calculated based on traffic flow at the four main toll gates (GT), namely Cikupa GT (direction to Merak), Ciawi GT (direction to Puncak), Cikampek Utama GT (direction to Trans Java), and Kalihurip Utama GT (direction to Bandung).

This traffic volume increased by 13.5% compared to normal traffic (432,231 vehicles) in the same period. When compared to the 2023 Christmas period, this number increased by 3% from a total of 476,160 vehicles.

Jasa Marga's Corporate Communication and Community Development Group Head, Lisye Octaviana, revealed that on D-5 Christmas (Friday, December 20, 2024), as many as 182,790 vehicles left Jabotabek, an increase of 13.3% from the normal figure (161,263 vehicles).

"Jasa Marga recorded a surge in vehicle flows to Trans Java through GT Cikampek Utama as many as 44,636 vehicles, an increase of 38.4% from normal traffic (32,260 vehicles)," said Lisye, quoted on Saturday (21/12).

Vehicle traffic leaving Jabotabek is divided into three main directions:

- Total vehicles to the East: 216,400 vehicles (up 20.2% from normal).

2. West (Merak) - 161,443 vehicles (32.9% of total vehicles). - Through Cikupa GT, there is a 9.2% increase compared to normal.

3. South (Puncak) - 112,778 vehicles (23.0% of total vehicles). - Through GT Ciawi, an increase of 8.1% from normal traffic.

Lisye reminded that the peak of the Christmas homecoming is predicted to occur today, she appealed to road users to avoid travel at peak times. Do not travel at favorite times, such as morning or evening, to prevent the accumulation of vehicles.

"Good travel plans are very important to support smooth traffic during this long holiday," concluded Lisye.
