Mashudi Elected As Chair Of PWI Banten, Focuses On Journalist Professionalism

TANGERANG - The Extraordinary Provincial Conference (Konferprovlub) of the Banten Province Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) was officially held at the Soll Marina Hotel, Tangerang City, Thursday, December 19, 2024. This activity was carried out after the Central PWI Management appointed the Acting (Plt) Chairperson of the Banten Province PWI, Edi Rusli.

In the election of the Chairperson of the Banten Province PWI, there were two candidates, namely Mashudi and Hari Kibo. However, Hari Kibo chose to withdraw from the contestation. Thus, Mashudi was elected by acclamation as Chair of PWI Banten Province for the 2024 period 2029.

In his remarks, Mashudi emphasized the importance of synergy with administrators at the district and city levels in Banten Province. He also thanked Hari Kibo for his support.

"We have often spoken and communicated. We both have the same vision and mission, namely producing professional and credible journalists for better Banten PWI," he said.

The man who is also the boss of Radar Banten emphasized the importance of PWI's role as an organization that continues to produce professional and credible journalists. "In the future, professional journalists will be in PWI," he said.

Mashudi also invited all parties to synergize and work together to raise this professional journalist organization.

"The benefits and existence of the organization are not only felt by members and administrators. We must complement and cover each other's shortcomings, so that journalists' organizations are increasingly respected and dignified," he explained.

He also expressed his gratitude to the management and chairman of the Central PWI, Hendry CH Bangun, for the direction and support given. "This is our joint commitment to fix the Banten PWI and support the Chairman of the Central PWI, Hendry CH Bangun," he said.

The PWI Banten conglomerate was also attended by the Chairman of the Central PWI, Hendry CH Bangun.
