Apple Will Bring Satellite Communication To Smartwatch Next Year

JAKARTA Apple plans to bring satellite communication features to their smartwatch devices by 2025. The company is also accelerating the development of blood pressure gauge features for its smartwatches, according to a Bloomberg News report on Tuesday, December 10.

This satellite communication feature is rumored to be available on the latest version of the Apple Watch Ultra which will be released next year. With this feature, users can send messages without the need for a mobile connection or internet.

Apple first introduced satellite communications via iPhone in 2022. Last November, the company invested $1.5 billion into satellite provider Globalstar to support the development of satellite-based iPhone communications services.

The latest health features, such as blood pressure measurements, are expected to be present in 2025. In addition, Apple continues to add health capabilities to its products. Last September, Apple launched a new smartwatch capable of detecting long-term health conditions such as sleep apnea and responding to emergencies.

This move confirms Apple's focus on integrating advanced technology with health innovations. However, until now, Apple has not made official comments regarding the report.

With this development, Apple is further strengthening its position as a leader in the smart device market that prioritizes connectivity and health.
