Leave 9 Regions, Announcement Of Recapitulation Of West Java Gubernatorial Election Results Postponed

The General Election Commission (KPU) of West Java decided that the plenary meeting of the 2024 West Java Pilgub vote recapitulation which began on Sunday afternoon was postponed until Monday 9 December.

Acting (Plt) Chairman of the West Java KPU (Jabar) Aneu Nursifah explained that he temporarily suspended the recapitulation of the 2024 West Java Gubernatorial Election so that it was continued on Monday morning because of the witness' request.

"We have completed 18 regencies/cities on the first day and will continue Monday morning at 09.00 WIB," said Aneu, quoted by ANTARA, Monday morning.

Thus, he said, the recapitulation of the votes for the 2024 West Java gubernatorial election remained nine districts/cities. "Earlier, the request from the witness was that the witness wanted to break and indeed the recap schedule was on 8-9 (December), so there was still 1 day," he said.

Aneu revealed that his party had not been able to divulge the provisional results of the four pairs of candidates (paslon) in the West Java Pilgub 2024. However, the results will be announced after the completion of the total of 27 districts and cities in West Java. "Later, just recap, who is superior, can be seen," he said.

Aneu explained that until now there are three regencies and one city in West Java that have filed a lawsuit against the results of the 2024 Pilkada to the Constitutional Court (MK). The four regions are Depok City, Subang Regency, Pangandaran and Bandung Regency.

"For the lawsuit to the Constitutional Court, as of December 6, 2024, four lawsuits have been filed for the regional elections, namely Pangandaran Regency, Subang Regency, Bandung Regency and Depok City," he said.

Meanwhile, the plenary meeting for the recapitulation of the 2024 West Java gubernatorial election will be held again Monday (9/12/2024) morning.
