Jakarta UMP 2025 Will Be Announced December 11, Estimated At IDR 5.3 Million

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will announce an increase in the provincial minimum wage (UMP) in 2025 on Wednesday, December 11, 2024. This is in accordance with the deadline for announcing wage increases in areas determined by the central government.

Head of the DKI Jakarta Manpower, Transmigration and Energy Agency (Disnakertransgi) Hari Nugroho said that the DKI Provincial Government still needs to hold a meeting with the wage council, including representatives of workers and business groups.

"The maximum announcement on December 11, must be announced. Therefore, on the 9th of the meeting, on the 10th asking for a recommendation from the Governor, the 11th of the Governor will determine," Hari told reporters, Saturday, December 7.

Presiden Prabowo Subianto sebelumnya telah menetapkan rata-rata kenaikan UMP sebesar 6,5 persen. Kenaikan UMP di Jakarta, diakui Hari, relatif tidak berbeda dengan nilai yang ditetapkan pemerintah pusat.

Jakarta's UMP in 2024 is IDR 5,067,381. If it increases by 6.5 percent, the drinking wage in Jakarta next year is estimated to be around IDR 5.3 million.

"There has been an increase of 6.5 percent from the 2024 UMP. It's just a time to multiply it. For the 2024 UMP, how many times are 6.5 percent, just add it up," said Hari.

The Ministry of Manpower has officially increased the Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) in 2025 by 6.5 percent. This is marked by the issuance of the Minister of Manpower Regulation (Permenaker) Number 16 of 2024 concerning the determination of the 2025 MInimum Wage which was signed on December 4, 2025.

This new regulation states that the 2025 minimum wage policy is one of the efforts to maintain the purchasing power of workers/laborers and business competitiveness.

Article 2 (2) Permenaker 16/2024 regulates the determination of the 2025 UMP using the following formula: UMP2025 = UMP2024 + The Value of the 2025 UMP Increase.

"The value of the provincial Minimum Wage increase in 2025 as referred to in paragraph (2) is 6.5 percent of the provincial Minimum Wage in 2024," reads Article 2 paragraph (3) quoted on Wednesday, December 4.

Meanwhile, paragraph (4) explains that the percentage of the increase has taken into account certain economic growth, inflation, and indexes.

A certain index is a variable that represents the contribution of labor to the economic growth of the province by taking into account the interests of companies and workers/laborers as well as the principle of proportionality to meet the needs of decent living.

Article 3 of the regulation also states that the calculation of the provincial Minimum Wage in 2025 is carried out by the provincial wage council and recommends the results of the 2025 UMP calculation to the governor.

Regarding the announcement of the UMP by the governor, it is stated in article 10 which states that the 2025 UMP and the 2025 provincial sectoral minimum wage are determined by the Governor's Decree and announced no later than December 11, 2024.
