Landslides And Mud Floods Hit Several Districts In Sukabumi
SUKABUMI - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Sukabumi Regency, West Java, reported that several sub-districts experienced flooding and landslides in the last two days.
"The disaster was triggered by extreme weather that hit the Sukabumi Regency area where heavy rain accompanied by strong winds almost fell throughout the day from Friday, (24/11) to Saturday, (25/11)," said Public Relations BPBD Sukabumi Regency Sandra Fitria in Sukabumi Saturday.
As for the disaster data received by the Sukabumi Regency BPBD, landslides and flash floods occurred in Cigadog Village, RT 01/03, Tenjolaya Village, Cicurug District, through the irrigation canal and eroded the connecting road between villages.
A similar disaster caused the connecting road in Babaka Jaampang Village, RT 19/07, Sukajaya Village, Sukabumi District to erode. Furthermore, the cliff with a height of seven meters and a length of 13 meters in Jelegong Village, Balekambang Village, Nagrak District, landslide resulted in closed community road access and one of the residents' houses collapsed due to landslides.
Not far from that location, the 25 meter high cliff with a length of about 20 meters in Bobojong Village closed the flow of children from the Cinagarak water channel so that the water overflowed and piled up residents' fishing ponds.
A cliff landslide with a length and a height of four meters also occurred in Ciawitali Village, RT 005/003, Cisarua Village, Nagrak District, so that one house inhabited by four people broke into the kitchen. Cu
Furthermore, landslides in Pamuruyan Village, Cisarua Village, Nagrak District resulted in one resident's house which was inhabited by three people being buried, but there were no casualties and injuries from this incident, only the occupants had to evacuate.
In Kebonpala II Village, Kelurahan/Cibadak Subdistrict heavy rains caused a retaining wall (TPT) with a length of five meters and a height of six meters of landslide which resulted in one house being inhabited by six people being threatened. To anticipate further landslides, the occupants of the house chose to evacuate.
Landslide cliffs as high as two meters and six meters of food in Ciparay Village, RT 01/01, Cikahuripan Village, Kadudampit District have resulted in closed access to residents' roads, but now vehicles have been able to pass them again.

A mud flood triggered by landslides in Kampung/Village Tenjoayu, Cicurug District resulted in four houses inhabited by four families or 15 people being affected.
"There were no casualties in the disaster incident that occurred in several sub-districts in Sukabumi Regency, currently joint officers from various elements are still working together to help survivors," he added.
Sandra said that until now her party was still receiving information from the sub-district disaster management officer (P2BK) regarding the hydrometeorological disaster so that the number of damaged houses, losses, and survivors was still being collected.
