The DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) has alerted rubber boats in each kelurahan to prepare for evacuation in the event of flooding in line with the rainy season this week.
"Anticipating measures have been taken, rubber boats have been alerted, even flood management simulations have also been made," said Head of DKI Jakarta BPBD Isnawa Adji when contacted by ANTARA, Saturday. He explained that currently the intensity of the rain is still low to moderate with an average time of half to one hour. Even though the peak of the rainy season is predicted to be January-February next year, but the DKI Jakarta BPBD has also coordinated with the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) to monitor the development of rainfall once every two hours. He admitted that the potential for inundation will still occur, especially in 25 areas located near riverbanks such as Kalibata, Jatinegara, Cipulir, and Cipayung Villages. "In addition, the upstream part of the river has always been monitored when it is raining, so it can quickly anticipate the bad potential that could occur. Isnawa admitted that it is optimistic that the impact of the rainy season, especially at peak moments, will be able to be resolved and able to minimize the bad consequences compared to the previous year. "Yes, we pray that later the weather will not be too extreme, even if there is rain, the intensity may be up to moderate, even if there are puddles or floods rapidly receding, all efforts have been made," said Isnawa.
