JAKARTA - Kawasaki Motor Indonesia launched two electric motorbikes for the Indonesian market under the names Ninja e-1 and Z e-1. Both can be ordered at the Kawasaki dealers.
Having a sporty design like a sports motorbike, Ninja e-1 and Z e-1 are equipped with two lithium-ion batteries which each weigh 11.5 kg. The price of one battery is quite expensive, even the equivalent of one unit of Benelli Zafferano 250.
"Yes, for one battery, IDR 45 million," said Michael C. Tanadhi, Head Sales & Promotion of Kawasaki Motor Indonesia, when contacted by VOI, Thursday, November 23.
This means that the two batteries embedded in the electric motor reached Rp90 million. Not a small number, considering the price of the motorbike is around Rp140 million.
When asked about whether it could only buy battery units as reserves if the power ran out, it turned out to be possible. So, it can be stored (backup) for use to make it more practical.
"That's right (it can be bought for reserves)," he continued.
