BMW Motorrad Officially Introduces R 12 NINET 2024, Take A Peek At The Specifications

JAKARTA - Today's BMW Motorrad officially introduced the R 12 nineT 2024 model, a classic-style naked roadster that now comes with a more assertive and elegant look.

Quoted from BMW Motorrad's official website, Friday, November 24, Edgarmen, Head of Design BMW Motorrad, said the bike was present by combining the character of the boxer machine torque, and the traditional motorcycle-era design language but equipped with innovative technology.

Indeed, this one motorcycle is equipped with a 1,170cc boxer engine that is air-cooled and oil, with a bore and stroke measuring 101.0 mm x 73.0 mm, as well as a compressive ratio of 12.0 to one. With the engine R 12 nineT, it is claimed to produce 109 hp at 7,000 rpm and a torque of 115 Nm at 6,500 rpm, which is paired with a gearbox of six speeds and uses the final driver of the axis.

"The engine provides powerful and character performance, ensuring high driving dynamics with peak power," said Norbert Rebholz, Project Manager of the BMW Motorrad Air-Cooled Boxer Series.

Meanwhile, this one motor is now equipped with a new steel frame that is durable and is claimed to be able to reduce vehicle weight, and provide a cleaner and more classic look.

Speaking of convenience, the R 12 nineT rear suspension is equipped with an aluminum parallel beam with a central shock and a rebounded damping adjustment. Meanwhile, the front braking is equipped with a pair of Kalipers, equipped with a 310 mm brake disk, and the back of the two pistons with a disk brake is only 265 mm.

BMW R 12 nineT 2024 displays a round analog gauge shape, and as an option it can be replaced by a 3.5-inch micro TFT screen. High-resolution micro-TFT screen ensures excellent reading even in difficult lighting conditions, and brings the new R 12 model instrument display to the digital era. And there is driving mode for R 12 nineT, covering Rain, Road, and Dynamic.

Another feature available is equipped with USB-C and 12V sockets, surrounding LED lights, and BMW Smart Emergency Call features. BMW Connected Ride control is an option available, which allows connecting smartphones via Bluetooth. Additional optional equipment includes Headlight Pro, Hill Start Assist Pro, and Shift Assistant Pro.

Regarding color presence, the BMW R 12 nineT is available in three attractive color options, including Metalic Blackstorm Standard, Metalic Green San Remo Option, or the 719 "Aluminum" option in aluminum and Night Black (optional) materials.

Speaking of prices, the BMW R 12 nineT 2024 has not been announced, and will be announced near its launch date in the US around Q1 in 2024.
