Mikta Member State Parliament Agrees Israel's Population In Palestine Must Stop
JAKARTA - Representatives of the MPs of MIKTA member countries consisting of Mexico, Indonesia, South Korea (South Korea), Turkey, and Australia expressed one voice regarding the importance of peace in Palestine.
"Regarding what happened in Palestine, we agree that the Israeli occupation of Palestine must be stopped immediately," said DPR Speaker Puan Maharani in a press conference with representatives of the MIKTA parliament after meeting President Joko Widodo at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Monday 20 November.
In addition, continued Puan, MIKTA countries also agreed that humanitarian aid routes must be opened immediately to deal with the impact of the conflict, especially those suffered by residents in the Gaza Strip.
"We agree that what happened in Palestine and Ukraine must be resolved immediately so that peace can be created on earth," he said in Antara.
As chairman of the MIKTA this year, Indonesia affirms its commitment to peace in Palestine, which has been in the international spotlight for more than a month due to the latest conflict between Israel and Hamas fighters.

With the existence of the consulting forum for the five middle-power countries, Puan believes their voices for Palestine can be heard more by the world.
"MIKTA as one of the organizations or middle power countries in the world agrees or is committed that peace in the world is very important, and we will protect it together," said Puan.
Since Israel bombarded Gaza from October 7, 2023, more than 12,000 Palestinians have died, including 8,300 women and children, and more than 30,000 others have been injured.
Thousands of buildings, including hospitals, mosques, and churches in Gaza, were damaged or destroyed.
Israel's blockade has cut off supplies of fuel, electricity and water to Gaza and reduced humanitarian aid.
Meanwhile, the number of deaths in Israel reached 1,200.
