Police Are Looking For A Chaos Supporter Provocateur After The Gresik United Vs Deltras Sidoarjo Match

Gresik Police investigated the chaos of supporters with the post-home officials Gresik United against Deltras FC in the continuation of the Indonesian League 2 outside the Gelora Joko Samudro Stadium, Sunday (19/11).

"Until now, we are still investigating the incident. We are collecting all the available evidence, including video recordings, CCTV and others," said Gresik Police Chief AKBP Adhitya Panji Anom, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, November 20.

Adhitya said that from the investigation carried out, his party would immediately identify a suspect, namely a person suspected of being the provocateur of a riot.

"Later we will immediately determine the suspect," he said.

The chaos started with the disappointment of the host audience because his team lost 1-2 to Deltras FC.

From that disappointment, a number of supporters tried to come to the management by forcing their way into the stadium, but the officers blocked them. Furthermore, some of the spectators threw stones at the Deltras FC bus.

"We are not reactive and urge supporters to return to their homes, but the appeal is ignored, even officers get stone throws from supporters in the parking lot, or on the 2nd floor parking lot," he said.

From there, continued Adhitya, officers were still holding back. His party still appealed to supporters to disperse, but the escalation was increasing and even the throwing hit a number of personnel, so that 10 members of the National Police were injured.

"After that, we took decisive, measured action by dispersing supporters by firing tear gas," he said.

The police chief confirmed that the shooting carried out was in accordance with the procedure because it was not carried out inside the stadium, carried out in an open space and had gone through a very long stage.

"Members lasted about an hour at the location, but supporters did not want to disperse. After we fired tear gas, thank God the community was able to disperse," he said.

Apart from police officers, of the riots, at least seven supporters were hospitalized due to respiratory problems.

"Now he has been sent home because there are no serious injuries, only breathing problems. We will help carry out a visit home from the East Java Regional Police Biddokkes doctor to control the supporters who have returned home," he said.

Meanwhile, of the 10 victims from the police, five people are still being treated for injuries to the head due to stone throwing.

"Most of the injuries to the head due to the stone throw, this requires further observation, so we are not in a hurry to return the person concerned," he said.
