10th ADMM Plus Welcoming The Participation Of The Defense Minister Of Timor Leste
JAKARTA - ASEAN Defense Ministers (ADMM) Plus 10th in Jakarta, welcomed the presence of Defense Minister Timor Leste Donaciano Do Rosario Da Costa Gomes, who for the first time participated in a series of ADMM Plus meetings as observers (observers).
Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto, who chaired the 10th AdMM Plus meeting, said that the presence of Defense Minister Timor Leste in the Defense Minister forum throughout ASEAN with the Defense Minister of the eight ASEAN partner countries was a momentum to realize constructive discussions, aimed at common interests.
"I would like to convey to the ministers today that the Minister of Defense of Timor Leste was accepted for the first time to join the ADMM Plus forum, and this is a momentum after the guidance was approved for the Timor Leste observer status at ADMM, ADM Plus, and other related meetings," said Defense Minister Prabowo when opening the 10th ADMM in Jakarta as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, November 16.
In the 10th meeting of the ADMM Plus in Jakarta, all defense ministers of ASEAN, except Myanmar, were present.
The ministers of ASEAN countries who attended were the Cambodian Defense Minister/Deputy Prime Minister (PM) of Cambodia General Tea Seiha; Lao Defense Minister/Vice PM Laos General Chansamone Chainalath; Singaporean Defense Minister Ng Eng Hen, Philippine Defense Minister Gilberto C. Teodoro, Jr.
Also present was the Malaysian Defense Minister Dato of the Main Series of Hajj Mohamad bin Haji Hasan; Thailand Defense Minister Sutin Klangsang; Vietnam Defense Minister General Phan V Shag; and Brunei Defense Minister II Darussalam Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Ret) Dato Joins the Hajj Series Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof.
Meanwhile, Timor Leste, whose status is still as an observer in the 17th ADMM, was represented by Defense Minister Donaciano Do Rosario Da Costa Gomes.
Of the eight ASEAN partner countries, their defense/representative ministers who attended directly at the 10th ADMM Plus, namely Australian Defense Industry Minister Pat Conroy, Deputy Chief of Joint Staff of China's Central Military Commission Marshal Madya Jing Jianfeng, and Indian Defense Minister Shri Rajnath Singh.
