Former Minister Of Communication And Information Johnny G Plate Asks For 24 Accounts Belonging To His Wife, Children And Companies To Be Opened
JAKARTA - The defendant in the alleged corruption case of BTS 4G Kominfo, Johnny G. Plate, asked for the blocking of 24 bank accounts in the name of his wife, children, and company to be opened. The former Minister of Communication and Information considers this not related to the case he is facing.
"We submitted a letter requesting the opening of a blocked account for 24 accounts in the name of the wife and children of the defendant, as well as the defendant companies. We submitted a request for opening with the reason, the first, during this trial process it was never proven that there was a flow of money entering the (24) account," said Johnny G. Plate's legal team in a duplicate trial at the Corruption Court (Tipikor) at the Central Jakarta District Court (PN), Jakarta, Monday 6 November, confiscated by Antara.
Johnny G. Plate's legal team also said that the indictment filed by the public prosecutor (JPU) had never attached the points of application for blocking these accounts.
"Then, next, the public prosecutor did not mention the charges regarding these accounts; so for us it creates legal uncertainty and violates our client's civil rights," said Johnny's team of attorneys.
VOIR éGALEMENT:
According to the defendant's attorney, the prosecutor was also unable to prove the flow of money to his client, so there was no reason to confiscate the assets belonging to the former minister of communication and informatics (Menkominfo).
