JAKARTA - Volvo has launched the Volvo EX30 model as a small SUV as well as adding to the lineup of manufacturer's electric vehicles (EVs). This car adds to the consumer options that want to have a premium EV at affordable prices.
The Swedish manufacturer said the car was produced at a factory owned by the parent company, Geely, located in Zhangjiakou, China. Production has been carried out earlier this year.
In addition, due to high demand for EX30 in the global market, the company will also produce this crossover in European territory. It is known, the initial price of this premium SUV is around 36,000 euros or around Rp574 million.
Reporting from Autocar, Thursday, October 26, Volvo has decided to expand its production line in Ghent, Belgium, starting in 2025.
This car assembly in Europe will anticipate the high demand for EX30 in Europe as well as global demand. Currently, Ghent's factories produce models such as XC40 and C40 Recharge.

Speaking of specifications, Volvo offers a single-motor option with an LFP standard range battery, which uses lithium iron phosphate chemicals, is more cost-effective and more resource-efficient to produce, meaning it's the best option if it doesn't require maximum range.
Then there is the Single Motor Extended Range variant with a long-range battery NMC battery featuring lithium, nickel, manganese, and cobalt, and generating its energy more efficiently than the LFP variant. This single-motor long-range option provides a range of up to 480 km per charge.
With these specifications, EX30 can advance with the fastest acceleration the company has ever made, which only takes 3.5 seconds from 0-100 km/hour.
EX30 is one of the many electrified cars introduced by this Swedish brand, in addition to EX90, XC40 Recharge, and C40 Recharge.
