Gibran's Status Is Still A PDIP Cadre, Gerindra: There Is No Prohibition On Nominating Other Political Parties
JAKARTA - The daily chairman of the Gerindra Party DPP, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, emphasized that there is no prohibition against nominating members of other political parties (political parties) as a condition for registering presidential and vice-presidential candidates with the KPU.
This was conveyed by Dasco in response to the issue of the status of the Vice President of the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) Gibran Rakabuming Raka, who is still a PDIP cadre.
"We did not enter that realm. But we will see, there are no conditions for registering the KPU, no one forbids that we should not no cadres or members of other parties be nominated," said Dasco at the KPU office, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, October 25.
According to Dasco, his party has considered the legal basis and the existing legal facts related to the political dynamics that are currently happening. Including the polemic regarding the determination of Gibran as the vice presidential candidate proposed by Golkar even though he is still a PDIP cadre.
"So it was decided then to make a partner between Pak Prabowo and Gibran, we have considered all kinds of aspects," explained Dasco.
Regarding the green light from PDIP to meet the presidential candidate and General Chairperson of Gerindra Prabowo Subianto, the deputy chairman of the DPR was reluctant to comment. According to Dasco, this is the business of the Secretary General of Gerindra Ahmad Muzani.
"The one who took care of the secretary general happened to be, so I don't know yet, we'll update it later," said Dasco.
