KPU Has Not Received A Registration Letter For Prabowo And His Vice Presidential Candidates
Chairman of the General Elections Commission (KPU) Hasyim Asy'ari said that until now his party had not received a notification letter from the registration plan from the political party that carried Prabowo Subianto and his assistants in the 2024 presidential election.
"Until now, when I am talking here, we have not received any information about the joint political parties that will be present to register the presidential and vice presidential candidate pairs," said Hasyim at the KPU office, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Thursday, October 19.
Prabowo Subianto has not announced the name of the vice presidential candidate even though he has been promoted by the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) which is filled with the Gerindra Party, Golkar Party, PAN, Democratic Party, PBB, Gelora Party, Prima Party and Garuda Party.
However, Prabowo and his assistant still have until October 25 to register as pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates in 2024. Meanwhile, the results of the verification of the candidate pairs will be announced by the KPU on November 13, 2023.
"All candidate pairs, because the KPU has determined candidates who meet the requirements and are appointed as participants in the presidential and vice presidential candidates 6-8 (November), and are appointed as participants in the presidential and vice presidential elections," explained Hasyim.

For the two pairs of candidates who have registered, namely the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD, they have processed for administrative verification tomorrow.
"So, basically, procedurally, the SOP determined that if there is a combination of political parties, they will be present at the KPU to register the candidate pairs, they must send information via written letter to the KPU regarding when to attend the KPU and register a candidate pair. The limit is no later than H-1 or one day before attending the KPU," said Hasyim reminded.
