JAKARTA - Lexus, the leading premium car brand, has announced its participation in the Japan Mobility Show 2023 which will take place from October 25 to November 5. In this prestigious event, Lexus will showcase a number of innovations reflecting the company's sustainable vision.
Lexus' innovation and commitment in environmental electrification and sustainability will be a major focus on the Japan Mobility Show 2023. Not only is it a bold step towards electric vehicles, but also reflects the vision of the future in the global automotive industry.
At this exhibition, Lexus will showcase Japan's traditional expertise and the use of environmentally friendly materials, especially bamboo. This step is part of the company's commitment to move towards carbon-neutral society. In addition, they will reveal their future electric vehicle.
According to Toyota Global's official report, Wednesday, October 11, Lexus will present a booth theme with the title "Pushing the Boundaries of the Electrified Experience." On this occasion, Lexus will also introduce the concept of a next-generation battery-based electric vehicle (Battery Electric Vehicle - BEV), which will bring the brand to become a fully electric car manufacturer by 2035.
The next-generation electric vehicle is scheduled to debut in 2026 with a production approach that has undergone significant changes and the latest software platform technology. This concept will involve the latest modular and battery body structures that are expected to be able to provide coverage of up to 800 kilometers. However, Lexus has not elaborated further on this concept model.

Lexus is expected to follow in the footsteps of the company's parent plan, Toyota, with plans to use a solid-state battery which is expected to be available by 2027. This battery is expected to provide a distance of more than 1,000 kilometers and charge from 10 to 80 percent in just 10 minutes.
Currently, Lexus owns electric vehicles such as UX 300e and RZ 450e in their global product lines. However, they emphasize their commitment to continuing to develop technology so that it can provide electrification products that suit consumer needs over time.
