UN Secretary General Invites Indonesian People To Set A Heart To Choose Prabowo
JAKARTA - Secretary General of the Crescent Star Party (PBB) Afriansyah Noor assessed that Prabowo Subianto's future presidential candidate (readpres) is a figure who can bring change to the Indonesian nation to move forward."And now the Crescent Star Party supports Mr. Prabowo Subianto to become president in 2024," Afriansyah said at the Prophet Muhammad's Birthday 1445 Hijriyah at his residence in Jakarta, Antara, Sunday, October 8.Therefore, he invited the Indonesian people to set a heart and choice for the prospective presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto in the 2024 General Election."Let's all meet at the TPS to elect Mr. Prabowo as president of the Republic of Indonesia," he said.Afriansyah said that Prabowo Subianto was scheduled to attend the celebration of the Prophet Muhammad's birthday at 10.30 WIB.However, according to him, the General Chairperson of the Gerindra Party DPP could not fulfill the invitation because he had to hold a limited meeting related to the Indonesian Hospital in Beilt Lahiya in the Gaza Strip, Palestine, which was the target of an Israeli military air strike on Saturday.Previously, the Secretary General (Sekjen) of the Gerindra Party, Ahmad Muzani, said that his party and the volunteers continued to struggle to convince the people in determining their choice to Prabowo in the 2024 presidential election."Revolunters, supporters of the Prabowo coalition party continue to come down, continue to go directly to the people, convince the people from door to door. They (people) hold ballot cards. They are the ones who have the right to determine their future," said Muzani after attending Setia Prabowo's declaration in Jakarta, Saturday (7/10).According to Muzani, next week Gerindra will hold a coalition meeting to discuss the format of the winning team consisting of coalition parties and volunteers. Discussions on the vice president's reading will also be carried out soon with the winning team.As regulated in Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections (UU Pemilu), pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates are proposed by political parties or coalitions of political parties participating in the election who meet the requirements for obtaining seats of at least 20 percent of the total number of seats in the DPR or obtaining 25 percent of valid votes nationally in the previous election for members of the DPR.
Currently, there are 575 seats in parliament so that pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates in the 2024 presidential election must have at least 115 seats in the DPR RI. In addition, candidate pairs can also be promoted by political parties or a combination of political parties participating in the 2019 Election with a total valid vote acquisition of at least 34,992,703 votes.
