Hamas Calls Its Operation Epik Heroik' Response To Israel's Aggression
JAKARTA - Head of the political bureau Hamas Ismail Haniyeh described the operation of the attack on Israel as an act of 'heroic epic' in response to aggression against Al Aqsa Mosque.
"At this historic moment, we were involved in a heroic epic for the sake of the Al Aqsa Mosque, our purification, and our detained fighters," Haniyeh said in a statement reported by ANTARA, Saturday, October 7.
He said "Zionist aggression have peaked in recent days, when thousands of settlers tarnished the feasibility of Al Aqsa," adding that Israel was also continuing its aggression in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
The Israeli army declared it "ready" to fight after several Palestinian factions in the Gaza Strip fired a series of rockets at Israel.
The Al-Qassam Brigade, armed wing of the Palestinian resistance group Hamas, announced the start of Operation Hurricane Al Aqsa by deploying rockets targeting several enemy locations, airports, and military installations.
