North Sumatra Police Arrest 1,058 Drug Perpetrators In 22 Days
The North Sumatra Regional Police together with the Resort Police arrested 1,058 drug abuse perpetrators within 22 days with various evidences also confiscated.
"Of the 1,058 suspects, 263 are users and the remaining 795 are dealers," said North Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Setya Imam Effendi at a press conference at the North Sumatra Police Headquarters, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, October 4.
Agung said the 1,058 suspects who were arrested were the result of the disclosure of 768 drug cases throughout North Sumatra.
"This is a disclosure of drug cases carried out by the North Sumatra Police and the North Sumatra Police for 22 days from September 12 to October 3, 2023," he said.
The Regional Police Chief said that together with the suspect, evidence of 75.97 kg of methamphetamine was also secured, 114.90 kg of dried marijuana, 51 cannabis trees and 998 ecstasy pills were secured.

In addition, officers also confiscated evidence in the form of Rp122,966,000 in cash, 138 motorcycles, 15 cars, 440 mobile phones, 109 electric scales, and 113 methamphetamine suction devices.
"The North Sumatra Police and the North Sumatra Police also revealed the home of the ecstasy industry in Tanjungbalai which is controlled by residents of correctional institutions," said Agung.
