California Governor Says Taylor Swift Has A Strong Impact On US Elections
JAKARTA - California Governor Gavin Newson said he believed Taylor Swift's influence would have a "very strong impact on the 2024 US presidential election."
Newson, governor of the Democratic Party, was at the Reagan Library in Simi Valley on Wednesday (27 September) to attend the second Republican meeting.
While there, he was asked by TMZ about how celebrities will influence next year's elections, he immediately focused on Swift and her influence on young voters, calling her someone who is "stand tall and unique".
"What he has succeeded in achieving in making the younger generation activated to consider that they have votes and they must have votes in the next election, I think this is very influential," he said.
On September 19, Swift urged her fans to take action in the upcoming US elections, which resulted in a record-breaking number of voters on the website Vote.org.

"I'm so lucky to see so many of you guys at my concert in the US recently. I've heard you raise your voice, and I know how strong that voice is. Make sure you're ready to use it in our election this year!", reads the message Swift posted to her Instagram Stories.
The next day, Vote.org communications director Nick Morrow revealed on X (formerly Twitter) that our site has an average of 13,000 users every 30 minutes after Swift's petition.
"13! Let's just think of its reputation as a very good mastermind! #NVRD," he continued.
Swift broke political silence over the years in 2018 by supporting two Democratic Party candidates in the US part-time elections and asking her fans to register and vote. This happened after he was criticized for not speaking out against Donald Trump ahead of the 2016 US elections.
In 2020, the star shared a video message showing her supporting Joe Biden and Kamala Harris on the eve of the presidential election.
