Jermell Charlo's Statement Makes Canelo Alvarez's Ear Heat: He Never Believes In My Ability!

JAKARTA - Mexican boxer Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez's wings were completely heated by the statement of the candidate against Jermell Charlo. The two boxers will be in the ring this weekend.

Canelo will defend the undisputed super middleweight title against the undisputed champions in the lightweight middleweight at the T Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, United States, Sunday, October 1.

The 33-year-old boxer, who has 10 wins in 11 fights for the world title, feels the need to prove himself in this match after Charlo doubts his abilities.

"I have nothing to prove in this fight. However, I have something to prove to him," Alvarez said.

"He never believed in my abilities. He always called me and never believed in my abilities. Now I have the opportunity to show him my abilities and that motivates me," he added.

Canelo currently holds all the championship belts in the super middleweight (76.2 kg) namely WBA (Super), WBC, IBF, WBO, and The Ring. In addition, he is quite worthy of being called the world boxing king in his class.

On the other hand, Jermell Charlo is the WBA (Super) champion, WBC, IBF, WBO, and The Ring in the junior middleweight (69.9 kg). Therefore, Charlo needs to move up two classes to challenge Canelo.

Charlo, who came from the United States, suffered only one defeat to 37 professional fights, briefly describing himself as a "singa".

"I don't know what animals I have to say to beat lions, but I am that animal," Alvarez said in response to the statement.

Meanwhile, Charlo, who is also 33 years old, doesn't seem to worry about the threats given by Canelo. He looks confident in getting into the ring even though many people are more trapping his opponent.

"That's what happens, if he feels that way. I came to win this fight, no matter what he says. Believe in your abilities or not, there are many people who don't believe in you," he said.
