Ready To Strengthen 40 Percent Of National Supply, Elpiji Tuban Terminal Confirmed To Be Completed 2026
PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS) ensures that the LPG Refrigerated East Java - Tuban Terminal construction project runs according to the target or on track and will start running in 2026.
The first phase of the LPG Refrigerated East Java Terminal construction project, Tuban, was completed at the end of last year.
"The LPG terminal, which is included in Pertamina's strategic project, is entering the second phase of development, and is ready to supply 40 percent of the national LPG supply in 2026," said PIS CEO Yoki Firnandi, Wednesday, September 20.
He explained that the Tuban LPG Terminal project is managed by a PIS subsidiary, namely PT Pertamina Energy Terminal (PET) which is mandated to manage strategic energy terminals in Indonesia.
One of them is the Tuban LPG terminal, which in the future plays a major role in energy security because it will serve as much as 40 percent of the national LPG demand, especially for the eastern part of Indonesia," Yoki continued.
The progress of terminal construction is even faster than the target. Terminals with a capacity of 93,000 MT were built in stages, where the first phase took place from 2019 to the end of last year for the process of land and tank preparation.
Continued to phase 2 which began last February, with an operating cooperation scheme (KSO) together with PT Wijaya Karya and PT JGC Indonesia for the construction of land and dock side terminals.

This LPG terminal will become a supply hub for LPG to East Java, Bali, NTB, Kalimantan, and Sulawesi, replacing the role of 2 units of Very Large Gas Carrier (VLGC) which currently function as floating storage.
"With the operation of the Tuban LPG terminal, the energy distribution will certainly be more efficient and guarantee more safety and guaranteed supply," said Yoki.
Not only that, but the construction of this terminal also recorded that it absorbed up to 1142 workers during the project, as well as the absorption of the Domestic Content Level (TKDN) of this project of 33.23 percent.
