The U-24 Indonesian National Team Passed The First Hadangan At The 2023 Asian Games Smoothly, PSSI Chairman: Take The Round Of 16 Tickets!
PSSI General Chair Erick Thohir asked Indonesia U-24 national team (Timnas) players to catch tickets to the last 16 of the 2023 Asian Games after winning against Kyrgyzstan.
The victory of two goals without reply was secured by the Garuda Muda Troops in the first match of Group F at Zhejiang Normal University East Stadium, Jinhua, China, Tuesday, September 19, 2023 evening WIB.
"We have to stay focused until the last match. Let's fight for the last 16 ticket!" Erick said in a statement received after the match.
This victory continues the tradition of winning the Indonesian national team in various international competitions. Among them are the SEA Games gold medal and tickets to qualify for the U-23 Asian Cup next year which was obtained recently.
Erick also appreciated the positive results obtained. He asked that the mentality of the victory of the Indonesian national team must be maintained in every event that is undertaken.
"We are able to continue the positive trend of the national team. After the SEA Games and AFC U-23 qualification, now at the main Asian level at the Asian Games, victory can also be achieved. We must continue to maintain this winning tradition," he said.
Victory over Kyrgyzstan opens up opportunities for the national team to qualify for the round of 16. Tickets are automatically obtained if victory is obtained again in the second match against Chinese Taipei, Thursday, September 21.
Erick asked the players to fight all out in the remaining two matches. Apart from fighting Taiwan, Indonesia still has to meet North Korea in the last match.
"Playing against anyone, the way we play, both from a technical and mental perspective, must be the same. Today Kyrgyzstan, tomorrow Taiwan and North Korea we must also appear to win," said Erick.
