With The Status Of City Prisoners In The Corruption Case Of The Iron Sand Mine, Mataram District Court Calls The Director Of PT AMG Not Mandatory To Report
Mataram District Court Spokesman Kelik Trimargo said there was no mandatory application of reporting to PT Anugrah Mitra Graha (AMG) Director Po Suwandi, who is now a city prisoner in a case of alleged corruption in an iron sand mine."Usually, if it is already in court, there is no obligation to report, but the defendant must attend the trial which has been determined on the day and date," said Kelik in Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara, Antara, Tuesday, September 19.Although he did not apply this, the defendant Po Suwandi must receive legal consequences if he is not present at the trial. "If the defendant is not present at the trial, the defendant can be put back in detention (rutan) on the orders of the panel of judges," he said.Regarding this issue, Spokesperson for the NTB Prosecutor's Office, Efrien Saputera, said that his party no longer had the authority to supervise the defendant Po Suwandi, who is now a city prisoner."The authority to detain him has become a judge's detention. This has been in effect since the Po Suwandi case was transferred to the court," said Efrien.Dengan mengatakan hal demikian, pengawasan terhadap Po Suwandi yang berstatus pensihan kota tersebut kini menjadi tanggung jawab majelis hakim yang menyidangkan perkara tersebut.Po Suwandi is one of the defendants in a corruption case that caused state losses of Rp36 billion. In the investigation process, the prosecutor's office previously carried out detentions starting from the forced pick-up in mid-April 2023 in North Jakarta. The forced pick-up was a follow-up to the appropriate summons three times, but Po Suwandi did not appear before the prosecutor's investigators. After the case was transferred to the court, the panel of judges who tried the Po Suwandi case had determined the transfer of detention status from prison detention to city detention. The panel of judges led by Isrin Surya Kurniasih determined this on Friday (15/9), taking into account Po Suwandi's health condition.
The consideration refers to a certificate of illness from the Mataram City Regional General Hospital (RSUD) which was shown by the defendant's legal adviser before the panel of judges during the trial last Thursday.
