Firefly Aerospace Breaks Responsive Launch Record Via Victus Nox Mission
JAKARTA Firefly Aerospace has successfully carried out a mission for the United States Air Force, called Victus Nox, on Thursday (14/09/2023) at Vandenberg Space Force Base.
With this launch, Firefly Aerospace has set a record for a responsive launch. The reason is, the rocket was launched just 27 hours after the US Space Force gave the launch order.
Quoted from TechCrunch, Firefly obtained launch permission on September 13. In no time, Firefly immediately prepared the launch, updated the software on the trajectories, and summarized the payload load made by the Millennium Space Systems and matched it to Firefly's Alpha rocket.
The Commander of the Airlifting Space System Command (SSC) General Michael Guetlein welcomed the news of the successful launch of Victus Nox.

The success of Victus Nox marks a cultural change in our country's ability to prevent enemy aggression and, when needed, responds with the operational speed needed to provide our fighters with a decisive ability, Gutlein said.
In addition, Guetlein stated that this responsive launch is proof that the US Space Force can integrate their capabilities and be able to respond to aggression when needed.
This record is the most recent record among commercial space companies so far. The Victus Nox mission itself is the third new mission by Firefly even though the company has been around for nine years.
