OpenAI Opens Office In Dublin As An International Expansion Step
JAKARTA - The leader of artificial intelligence, OpenAI, is now opening an office in Dublin, as announced by the Microsoft-backed company. This is the company's third office, with its headquarters in San Francisco and they also announced the opening of an office in London in June.
Dublin's office will start on a small scale, with nine open job positions in various teams. Jason Kwon, OpenAI Chief Strategy Officer, stated that the company plans to open up more job positions in the near future.
The Dublin office will not be Europe's headquarters for this company, and at least for now there will be no executive to manage the office. Kwon stated that OpenAI prefers to grow carefully and not too quickly, because it wants to ensure the company's culture first forms in a new office before developing scale.

OpenAI is one of many US technology companies to open an office in Dublin. In addition to access to talent already familiar with corporate culture such as Meta and Google, Ireland is a good place to connect with Europe in terms of regulation and business development.
"The tax implication does not play a role in this decision, because OpenAI is not profitable," Kwon said.
OpenAI's ChatGPT is the second fastest growing app in history, after Meta's Threads app. This has created enthusiasm and concern, bringing OpenAI clashes with regulators, especially in Europe, where the company's mass data collection has drawn criticism from privacy guards.
