KPK Ensures Corruption Cases At The Ministry Of Manpower Drag Cak Imin Not Related To The 2024 Presidential Election
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has confirmed that the investigation into the alleged corruption in the procurement of the Indonesian labor protection system (TKI) at the Ministry of Manpower in 2012 is not related to politics. All those summoned need information, including Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin.
"We are currently finalizing the investigation process of three suspects who have started since July 2023 on suspicion of corruption in the TKI protection system," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters, Monday, September 11.
"Which means it's very clear that it's far from being a presidential matter," he continued.
Ali also ensured that Cak Imin's summons did not just happen. Thus, the KPK asks all parties to hold opinions that are not in accordance with legal regulations.
"It is very inappropriate for law enforcers to suddenly conduct an examination or summon someone without any processes that have been passed before," he said.
Previously, the KPK had announced that three suspects were named in the case of procuring the protection system. Secretary of the Planning and Development Agency of the Ministry of Manpower I Nyoman Darmanta is reportedly one of the parties involved.
In investigating this case, several witnesses have been examined. One of them is the former Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin who served for the 2009-2014 period on Thursday, September 7.
As a result of this summons, various speculations occurred, including allegations of legal politicization. Even so, Cak Imin admitted that he had explained everything he knew in front of investigators.
At that time, Cak Imin was examined for five hours. "Everything I have heard and God willing, everything I remember, all I know I have explained," he said to reporters at the KPK's Red and White House.
