Palangka Raya Police Investigate 3 Locations Of Forest And Land Fires

PALANGKA RAYA - Palangka Raya Police, Central Kalimantan, conducted an in-depth investigation into three locations of forest and land fires (karhutla) that occurred in its jurisdiction to reveal who was the mastermind behind the burning of the land.

The Head of Ops for the Palangka Raya Police, Kompol Duanda B Napitupulu, said that currently his party is still having a bit of trouble determining the suspect in the forest and land fires case that occurred in the local area.

"We arrested one person, but after the examination it turned out that he was mentally disturbed. Then there was also a father who was old and burned only a little not with a large area, so both of us did not carry out an examination for humanitarian reasons," said Doubles as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, September 9.

He said that his party would determine the perpetrators of land burning if the two pieces of evidence from the incident were actually found. So far, the obstacle that is not difficult to do is not find the two pieces of evidence.

Even the police asked the local community, if they saw that there were land burners to immediately secure and secure two pieces of evidence, so that these individuals could be dealt with firmly.

"The most important thing is that we have to get two clear pieces of evidence, so that the perpetrators can be detained. Now the problem is two pieces of evidence that are difficult for us to obtain and to determine the land burners," he said.

The doubles did not specify the extent of the forest and land in the area, but said that currently the three locations of the burned land had also been given police lines and signs, so the status of the land should not be carried out by the owner for a while, while the case was clear.

"This issue is still being monitored by the Palangka Raya Police Criminal Investigation Unit," he explained.

Meanwhile, until now, investigators from the Palangka Raya Police have not yet named a suspect to the perpetrators of land burning, because the police will continue to carry out investigations to find strong authentic evidence to ensnare the perpetrators of the land burning.

He also said that the condition of Palangka Raya City after heavy rains, land fires in the local area had been extinguished even though some points were still on.

"With the effect of the high intensity rain, the smog that polluted the air of the local provincial capital has disappeared and returned to normal," he said.
