AHY Affirms Again Democrats Have Moved On
JAKARTA - Chairman of the Democratic Party Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) reiterated that his party has opened a new chapter or move on from the recent political dynamics.
AHY reiterated his statement when giving a speech at the 22nd Anniversary of the Democratic Party at the DPP Democratic Party, Jakarta, Saturday, September 9.
"As I said in this polytk park a few days ago, on Monday, September 4, I said that the Democrats had moved on and of course looked forward to the good days ahead. We looked forward to opportunities and were also full of hope," said AHY as quoted by ANTARA.
In his remarks, AHY also said September 9 was a historic date. This is because all cadres celebrate the anniversary of the party, as well as commemorate the birthday of the Chairman of the Upper House of the Democratic Party Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY).
"Today, September 9 is a historic day, a date that we always remember, commemorate, and we make it a momentum since the founding of the party. Right today is also the 74th anniversary of our father, Mr. SBY," he said.
The Democratic Party's Anniversary celebration this time, continued AHY, was slightly different because it was celebrated simply at the DPP office of the Democratic Party, Menteng, Central Jakarta.
"Today is a little different, September 9 this time we want to hold it simply, in the Democratic DPP, because we know there are events that of course have an indirect impact on the big family of the Democratic Party," he added.
Nevertheless, AHY emphasized that the Democratic Party has moved on and is ready to welcome new opportunities and hopes. He also thanked the cadres who had maintained the spirit of joy of the Democratic Party's anniversary.
"Thank you and all the committees who have worked hard in the morning and afternoon to present events, not only in Jakarta but in various regions of the country, to enliven and maintain the spirit of joy of this good momentum for the Democratic Party," he added.

AHY also said that the party would actually hold a national leadership meeting (rapimnas) as the peak of celebrating the anniversary of the Democratic Party.
"At first we were going to hold a kind of rapimnas, a warning or a peak of celebrating the party's anniversary, but of course because of the situation and the dynamics, we have to postpone it a little," said AHY.
However, AHY has not disclosed the date of the rapidmnas implementation.
"In that time we will do it and God willing, at that time we will have decisions that will also determine the journey of the Democrats in the future," he added.
