City Government Still Conducting Studies, Mataram Residents Return To Place Their Houses That Were Hit By Landslides
NTB - The Mataram City Government (Pemkot) is still conducting a study on the handling of landslides in the Jangkuk area of Selagalas Village. The landslide caused one family head (KK) to be evacuated.
This was conveyed in response to the landslide that occurred on Friday 11 August 2023 at around 10.30 WITA in the Jangkuk area that hit residents' houses, but so far it has not been handled.
"The study on handling landslides is to ascertain whether the land to be handled is privately or in general. We need to know land ownership so as not to violate the rules," said Head of the Mataram City Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Mahfuddin Noor in Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Friday, September 8, confiscated by Antara.
According to him, based on an assessment carried out by handling landslides in the area, it must be carried out thoroughly to avoid further landslides.
"We can't just finish one point, but the other point still has the potential for landslides," he said.
It is said that there is only one house that is affected by the landslide, but the condition of the talud that needs urgent handling reaches about 20 meters.
"The area on the edge of Janguk River in Selagalas is indeed one of the points of the residential access area so we must prioritize it to be immediately embankd," he said.

Therefore, for handling areas prone to landslides, further studies need to be carried out, including budget sources that will be used.
"Anyway you can use unexpected costs (BTT) or other budgets," he said.
Meanwhile, regarding the study, continued Mahfuddin, his party coordinated with relevant regional apparatus organizations (OPD) such as the Housing and Settlement Areas Service, as well as the Public Works and Spatial Planning Service.
Touching on the whereabouts of the owner of the house who had been evacuated, Mahfuddin said the occupants had returned to his residence. However, they were asked to vacate the rooms affected by the landslide.
But community activities bathing or washing along these times are still closed to avoid unwanted things.
"We have asked the police to install a police line in the area, so that residents do not approach the area," he said.
