2 Sympathizers Of KNPB Clashes At BTN Purwodadi Sentani Arrested By Police

JAYAPURA - Jayapura Resort Police (Polres) arrested two sympathizers of the West Papua National Committee (KNPB) who were involved in clashes at BTN Purwodadi, Sentani District, Jayapura Regency, Papua on Friday (18/9).

Jayapura Police Chief AKBP Fredrickus WA Maclarimboen said two perpetrators with the initials AK and BM had been detained at the Police detention center. According to the police chief, both of them were the brains of the clashes that left two people seriously injured.

"Ak and BM are the chairman and secretary of the KNPB, they came together with others, but did not rule out the development of anyone involved in the incident," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, September 6.

Regarding the Rp200 million money which is said to be the root cause of the problem, the police are still investigating.

"We focus on acts of abuse and destruction, even though there is a language of Rp. 200 million, but we cannot understand from whom and whose users are for whom," he said.
