3 Defendants Of Corruption Lost 500 Tons Of Bulog Pinrang Rice Sentenced To 8 Years
The three defendants in the alleged corruption case of Perum Bulog, Pinrang Regency, South Sulawesi, were finally sentenced by the Makassar Corruption Court (Tipikor) to eight years in prison or lighter than the demands of the Public Prosecutor (JPU) of the South Sulawesi High Prosecutor's Office, which is nine years in prison.
"The panel of judges has agreed with the public prosecutor that the actions of the defendants have violated the law and have enriched themselves or others in corruption cases," said Head of the Information and Law Section of the South Sulawesi Prosecutor's Office Soetrami in Makassar as reported by ANTARA, Friday, September 1.
The three defendants were each former Bulog Pinrang Branch Leader Radityo Putra Sikado, former Bulog Pinrang Warehouse Head Muh Idris and CV Sabang Director Merauke Persada as Bulog Irpan partners
The three defendants are considered responsible for the loss of 500 tons of rice at the Lampa Warehouse, Bulog, Pinrang Regency, which was issued without procedures, resulting in more than Rp5.4 billion in state finances.
The Public Prosecutor stated that the three defendants were found guilty of violating Article 2 paragraph (1) subsidiary Article 3, subsidiary Article 9 in conjunction with Article 18 paragraph (1) of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 31 of 1999 as amended and supplemented by Law Number 20 of 2021 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption.
In addition to the prison sentence, the defendant Irpan was charged with paying a fine of Rp. 500 million, subsidiary to six months in prison and paying compensation of Rp. 2,000,624,450, subsidiary to four years and six months in prison.

Furthermore, the defendant Muh Idris was charged with paying a fine of Rp. 500 million, subsidiary to six months in prison and setting the defendant to pay compensation of Rp. 2,442,050,000, subsidiary to imprisonment for four years.
And the defendant Radityo Putra Sikado was charged with paying a fine of Rp. 500, subsidiary to six months in prison and determined to pay compensation of Rp. 558,439,000 rupiah, subsidiary to imprisonment for two years.
Previously, the Chief Justice of the Makassar Class I A District Court, Royke Harold Inkiriwang, conveyed the decision to think about it, file an appeal or accept the verdict 14 working days after the verdict was enacted on Thursday, August 31, 2023.
The legal adviser to the defendant Bulog Pinrang, Achmad R Hamzah, said that his party had not taken legal steps and was waiting for a decision from the defendant. However, his party respects the decision of the panel of judges.
