Industrial Trust Index August 2023 Down To 53.22
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) released the Industrial Trust Index (IKI) in August 2023. IKI this month is known to remain at the expansion level, namely 53.22.
"IKI in August 2023 reached 53.22 (expansion) or slowed down 0.09 points compared to July 2023 which reached 53.31," said Ministry of Industry spokesman Febri Hendri Antoni Arif when delivering the release of IKI August 2023 at the Ministry of Industry Building, Jakarta, Thursday, August 31.
Febri said, although it experienced a slowdown of 0.09 points, all IKI-forming variable indexes experienced expansion.
"The expansion is both new order variables, production and product inventory with an increase in the value of the index on product inventory variables from 50.44 to 51.85 (up 1.41 points)," said Febri.
He added that there are a number of industrial sub-sectors that contribute expansion, such as motor vehicle sub-sectors and trailers, other means of transportation, and beverage sub-sectors.
Meanwhile, those that are still contracting are the textile industry, the wood industry, wood goods andomalous, and the finished or convection clothing industry.
According to Febri, in general, industrial trust in August 2023 is still very good. The value of IKI, which expanded in August 2023, is in line with the percentage of business actors who stated that the condition of their business activities increased by 32.8 percent or higher than the condition in July of 32.0 percent.

"Meanwhile, business actors who stated that their business conditions were stable in August 2023 at 42.9 percent or decreased compared to the previous month which was 45.4 percent," he said.
In August 2023, continued Febri, in general business actors are still optimistic about the business conditions for the next six months, with a total of 66 percent.
The majority of respondents who answered were optimistic in expressing their confidence in market conditions that would improve, and trust because of the central government's better policies.
As many as 24.8 percent of business actors stated that their business conditions were stable for the next six months, and 9.2 percent of business actors expressed pessimism for business conditions in the next 6 months.
"The level of pessimism for business actors is always below 10 percent during the last five periods," he added.
